Hi - I'm Nick.
Thanks for dropping by, this site is still a work in progress (when time permits), so I'll keep this brief.
I had the privilege of growing up in the Bay Area, being raised by immigrant parents from the former Soviet Union, who emphasized the value of education.
Although they were primarily refering to school, the idea of continuous learning (and tinkering) really stuck with me. As with any kid, this exploration mostly came from mischeif, such as taking apart electronics (clocks, computers & an electric scooter) and putting them back together with some unintentional spare parts.
This has since evolved into limitless curiosity. Countless of tabs opened to wikipedia, wolfram alpha & reddit, which led to the discovery that Safari has a 500 tab limit, and the easiest solution is to download a second browser and keep going.

The changing landscape of the Bay Area throughout my youth brought on a passion for all things related: Architecture, urban planning, real estate, and transit. The things we experience, both consciously and subconsciously, which have a critical influence on our daily lives. Living in building A on B street, where you can take the C train to work in D district - each part is equally critical to our overall wellbeing and happiness.
I started in the Real-Estate investment field interning for a small REIT. It was two apartment buildings in Oakland, very hands-on & direct. I learned everything from replacing old Edison Type-T fuses to basic GL accounting.
That same year, I graduated Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco, put in my notice, and took the summer off to garden.
Just kidding.
Seeking another challenge, I joined Maximus Real Estate Partners as an accountant focused on cleaning up delinquent receivables in their immense 3,690+ unit portfolio. Rising to become their go-to property accountant, I transitioned to modernizing our practices and promoting efficiency. The real estate industry can be slow to adapt to new tech, and I made it my goal to expedite the transition within our team.

My greatest joy is discovery. In my free time I'm digging through Zillow & San Francisco's Planning Department GIS map, urban photography (all the photos on this site are mine), and during in winter - skiing.
Please feel welcome to reach out, I am always excited to meet new people!
